How to Add Pages to Your Category

Pages with lots of minis will take a long time to load.
After a page contains about 15 minis, you'll need to start another page.

Steps are the same as starting a new category:
1. Create a new post
2. Title it with the appropriate Category name & page number. (i.e., Music, p 2)
3. Click post options below the post box
4. Change the date back to at least 2005
5. Hit publish
6. Find the post (click the older posts link back until yours pops up) copy the URL in the text box and send Ryan or Karen a convo with the link.
7. We will create all the links so your pages flow in a series.
8. If your category is large, it would be helpful to create a couple of pages at once & label them in sequential order. We will only make page 2 live and put the others into draft mode so they can be quickly activated in the future.

Etsymini™ is a marketing tool created by Etsy.com to help sellers showcase their items on websites not affiliated with Etsy. Users can add photos of their shop items and link the mini to websites such as blogger, myspace, typepad and so on. The best part about the mini is that it changes with each shops' inventory. Once a featured item is sold it is replaced with a fresh item from the sellers shop. Additionally sellers can choose to feature special and sale items in their minis, showcasing particular aspects of their individual bodies of work.

This blog is made up entirely of Etsyminis™. This means that the content on this blog is always current and constantly changing. Check back often for fresh items from your favorite sellers and fresher items from our newest minis. Etsymini.blogspot.com is an incredible real time catalogue of what is happening right now in the handmade world.

This blog is maintained by and for Etsy sellers so that we can support one another in our mission to create and sell handmade items.

This is a free venue. All sellers of handmade items are invited to have their shop mini featured on this blog.

The blog exists because a group of Volunteers donate their time to maintain the site. Please be respectful of this team by understanding the Terms Of Use and refrain from emailing or convo’ing them directly.
Your comments are welcomed; this is the best way to offer opinions, suggestions or requests.

We ask that you help spread the word by linking to personal blogs, myspace, emails, squidoo, stumble-upon, where ever. The number of visitors here is highly dependent on you. 
Please read through all the TOU and Frequently Asked Questions before contacting us with your mini. Thank you!

Minis may only appear in ONE category at a time. There are procedures in place if you wish to change your chosen category (see FAQ); failure to follow these procedures will result in your Mini being removed permanently from the site.

How to make a request & have your Etsy Mini hosted on the site:

Find your category. Add your shop number and your etsy user name to comments below the ONE category you choose.

You must have 3-4 items featured at all times that reflect your category. We will not upload any minis that do not belong in the category under which they were posted.

*Please* choose only 1 category, a minimum of 50% of your shop items should match your category. Minis are currently being featured in the order they are received; this is subject to change. Arrangement and order of shops is at the discretion of the site volunteers.

If you change your mind about the category in which you belong, you must first request your mini be removed from its current location by commenting within your category. Minis may not appear in more than one category at any time.* You must wait for your mini to be removed before requesting inclusion in a different category.

Four (4) photos must appear in your mini at all times. Be sure to have adequate items in your shop's featured section.

Administrators and Curators of the MiniBlog reserve the right to determine the category or sub-category where a mini will appear.

To keep the MiniBlog a pleasant place for buyers to browse, minis are deleted if there are fewer than four items in a shop, if the featured items don't match the MiniBlog category, or if a shop is in vacation mode. Once your shop is re-stocked or you're back from vacation, please leave a comment in your category to have your mini added again.

*Volunteers on the MiniBlog may have their shops featured in multiple locations on the site.

How to Create your Category

Once you've received your invite email to become an author on the blog and have been assigned your categories, you can log on to build your pages.

1. Create a new post.
2. Title it with the appropriate Category name (i.e., Candlemakers).
3. Click post options below the post box.
4. Change the date back to at least 2004 (or use the date that was provided by Karen or Dotty).
5. Check the box for "allow comments".
6. Hit publish.

7. Now create the additional pages 2-10 (or the requested number by Admin.)

8. Create a new post.
9. Title it with appropriate full Category name along with page 2 or appropriate number (Candlemakers: page 2.)
10. Change the date to match whatever was used for the first page.
11. Check the box for "do not allow comments."
12. Hit publish.
13. Repeat steps 6-12 for all the pages in the series.
14. Subscribe to receive email notifications of comments left in each of your categories. To do this: View page 1 of your category. Click "Post a Comment". Type "subscribing" in the text box. Check the box that says "email follow-up comments" then click "finish".

Convo Karen or Dotty; we will create all the links so your pages flow in a series. (If you know how to link your pages, you're welcome to do this yourself!)
An Admin will add the link to the category or subcategory in the side bar. You will be able to click on your category directly to edit. We may have old mini information that we will add to your category once it is published.

Some of the pages you create may be put in edit mode until they are needed.

How to add minis to your category.

1. Make sure you are signed into the blog.
2. In your category, you will see a pencil icon below the post on page 1.
3. Click on the pencil to open the code box.
4. You'll see this without the red print (click to enlarge):

5. Insert the appropriate information for the shop name & number as shown.
6. Hit the orange *Publish Post* button.
7. Code without shop names & numbers inserted will show as blank on the blog, so templates can be stored until they're needed.
8. Please remember to leave a marker message so Dotty & Karen will know to delete comments.
9. Start a new page after 15 minis are loaded.

TOU for the Etsymini™ Blog (created by me and not administered by Etsy in any way shape or form).
1. Minis may only appear in ONE category at a time. There are procedures in place if you wish to change your chosen category; failure to follow these procedures will result in your Mini being permanently removed from the site.
2. You must maintain 4 featured items at all times.
3. A minimum of 3 of the 4 featured items must match the category where your Mini appears.
4. You must notify us (in the category where your shop appears) to have your "mini" removed when you cannot feature 4 items.
5. Inappropriate comments will be deleted.
6. One Mini per SHOP. Please respect our time and do not list your shop's Mini in more than one category.
7. Do not use the recommendations for self promotion, potty humor treasuries or to promote your other shops.
8. This service is free however to make it work your help is needed, please link it (the blog) often.
9. This blog is subject to change without notice.
10. Please do not convo administrators or any of the volunteers with comments or concerns; post them in the comment section below the appropriate categories or in the seller forums.
11. Administrators reserve the right to determine the category where Minis appear.
12. Violation of the TOU will result in removal of your mini link and all posts or comments on this blog.
13. The SuppliesMiniBlog & MiniBlog are cooperative sites; violation of the TOU may result in removal from both sites.

What is Etsy.com?
Etsy is an international website that allows independent artists to sell their handmade items, to anyone from anywhere. If you've made it by hand you can sell it on Etsy*. Each Etsy Seller has a feedback rating (shown in the user section of their shop), list of items sold and list of items currently available. In order to purchase items from an Etsy user you will need to register with Etsy.com. It is simple, all you need is a valid e-mail and user name.
